Drew Motion – Diabetic Running Shoes for Women

We were on search for an athletic shoes for diabetics that had a built in heel cushion pad and rocker bottom to add to the shoe’s overall comfort and performance. The rocker bottom also had to have a wide shank for usability. Then, we stumbled across the Drew Motion shoes for women in black. The Drew Motion in black is one of the industry’s few diabetic running shoes with added depth and double added depth in one shoe, built specifically for females. Like the black version, the womens Drew Motion in white has a soft, foam padded tongue and collar for ultimate comfort to accommodate prescribed orthotics.

Diabetic Diet- Can These Food Prevent Diabetes?

I saw an interesting article on the homepage of MSN.com and I just figured it was pretty relevant to the content of this blog. We always talk about how our shoes and socks had benefits for anyone suffering from diabetes, but truly, it starts with diet, exercise, and a full night of rest on a consistent basis. Now I always harp on the fact that taking a simple walk on a regular basis will do so I’ll spare you on that end for now. The other piece of the pie has to do with what you eat. I wanted to focus on diet with this post because I want to let you know that just because you eat healthy, doesn’t mean you eat tasteless food. The article on MSN doesn’t necessary focus on eating good (in terms of taste) as it mainly focuses on diabetic meal planning itself, but just because it highlights simple things such as carrots and coffee doesn’t mean you can’t get creative. Some of the best crepes pancakes I have ever had were vegan. I suggest getting yourself a diabetic or vegetarian cookbook and trying a few things here and there, trust me, your health will be glad you did.

Dog sniffs out diabetes, saves child’s life

I was in the cafeteria at work today and in the midst of getting my daily dose of breakfast nutrition, I saw an interesting story on the humble television above of the counter-top. I briefly overheard a new anchor explaining how a 9-month old dog, was able to sniff out and detect diabetes in a young child before it was too late. Had the dog not noticed, the child’s life would have been seriously shortened. Now, as any of you know who read this blog I’m a sucker for canines so this story made me appreciate pups that much more. Unfortunately I caught the tail-end of the story but the images of the child playing fetch with his pup put a smile on my face and made work a bit brighter.
